Warning over car keysBy Harlow and Bishop's Stortford CitizenPOLICE are warning owners of expensive cars to keep them garaged overnight following a spate of house burglaries where car keys have been stolen. Since April, 41 prestige cars have been stolen from the eastern policing area which covers the Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth areas, including a blue Audi TT car which was taken from a drive in Rochford Road, Bishop's Stortford, on Monday, June 3, after burglars broke into the owner's home to steal the keys. Detective Chief Inspector Adrian Walter said: "If you own a car that's worth a lot of money, don't just leave it parked in the open because it may be vulnerable to theft. "If you own a garage use it. It seems pointless to keep a £50 lawnmower under lock and key but leave a £40,000 car out on the street." 15:17 Wednesday 31st July 2002
