Let off for CS gas teenBy Leyton and Leytonstone GuardianAN 18-year-old who "foolishly" kept a CS gas canister in his home for a friend was given a one-year conditional discharge by magistrates. Christian Titlow, of Overton Road, Leyton, pleaded guilty to possessing an automatic weapon when he appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The court heard that the canister marked Nato was found at Titlow's home during a police search in March. The defence solicitor told the court that Titlow, a labourer, agreed to look after the canister for a friend who didn't want to be found in the street with it. Chairman of the bench Rev Peter Brain told Titlow: "This is a very serious offence. If you had been found in the street with this you would have been dealt with in a different way." Titlow was ordered to pay £70 costs and the CS gas was to be destroyed. 10:21 Thursday 1st August 2002
