Store staff robbedBy Enfield IndependentAN ARMED robber raided a Palmers Green shop last week. Staff at the Cash Converters store in Green Lanes were throwing rubbish out in the back yard and were just about to close up for the night when a masked man brandishing a gun appeared at the back door. He told the four workers to go inside and lie on the floor. He then grabbed one female member of staff round the throat and put the gun to her head, demanding all the money. She was forced to open the safe and the tills and the robber escaped with more than £5,000 worth of cash and jewellery. The raid took place at about 5.50pm last Monday. The robber is described as black, stocky and tall. He was sporting a black stocking mask and wore a black T-shirt and black trousers or jeans. He was also carrying a sports holdall.
