Bogus callers nick cashBy Wanstead and Woodford GuardianAN 87-YEAR-OLD man had £600 stolen from his home by bogus water company officials on Friday. Two men with Irish accents entered the pensioners home in Stoneycroft Road, Woodford Bridge at 5.15pm, claiming they were from a water company. After they entered the house, one managed to distract the elderly man whilst the other stole £600 from a shopping bag. Both men are described as about 35 years old, white and 6ft tall. One man was wearing a dark tweed overcoat and the other was wearing dark clothing.
