Bogus callers witness appeal

FOUR elderly people fell prey to conmen on Saturday.

A bogus water company worker called at the house of a 79-year-old woman on the Leyton Green estate at 1.15pm and two men claiming to be council workers called at the home of an 86-year-old man in Middleton Avenue, Chingford, at 3.40pm.

At 7.50pm two bogus water company workers called at the house of a 70-year-old woman in Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow. Ten minutes later, at 8pm, two men claiming to be builders visited an 86-year-old man in Abbots Crescent, Chingford.
