AN ELDERLY woman was burgled after two men came into her house under the pretence that their budgie had flown into her garden.

The conmen, both in their early 20s, knocked on the door of the 89-year-old woman's house at 11.10pm on August 28. The woman, of Ropers Avenue, Highams Park, let them in but later found £200 missing. Anyone with information should call Leyton police on 8529 8666.
