Girl raped

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Sunday afternoon in woodland in Chingford.

The girl told police she was dragged into a wooded area near Antlers Hill at 4.20pm.

Detectives sealed the area off and residents said a helicopter was launched while officers hunted for the alleged attacker.

The girl was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital after the alleged attack.

Police have arrested a man and inquiries are ongoing, a police spokesman said this week.
