Rave warningBy Enfield IndependentOWNERS of industrial premises in Brimsdown should be on their guard against illegal rave groups. The advice, issued by Enfield Council, follows an illegal rave held at an empty warehouse in Lockfield Avenue that cost the owner, Geodis Ltd, thousands of pounds to clean up. Hundreds of residents were disturbed by the noise created by the rave, held during the weekend of September 7. It could be heard as far away as Waltham Cross. The council recently served a noise abatement notice on the company, which has now installed additional security to prevent the nuisance from happening again. Environmental health officers have also been on patrol in the area and the council is advising Lea Valley businesses on security measures and liaising with police. Cllr Terry Neville, cabinet member for environment, said: "Businesses need to be vigilant and are advised to take extra security measures to keep rave groups out. "This must be their top priority if we are to prevent the damage, noise and disruption that we have seen recently." 12:37 Thursday 26th September 2002
