Attack warning

By Haringey Independent

WOMEN in Muswell Hill are being told to be on their guard following reports of a man terrorising two women in the space of a few hours.

The man who is believed to be in his 20s, is prowling the area of Nelson Mandela Court and Coldfall Avenue.

He first struck at around 8.35pm on Monday September 9, when he jumped on a 37-year-old woman from behind and held her on the ground. The woman suffered a black eye and bruising.

Just a few hours later at 12.30am the man was found in the bedroom of a terrified woman. He made off after being disturbed.

The man is described as slim, white, and around 6ft tall. He had short, cropped, mousy-brown hair and a gaunt look.

Reports have also been received that a man fitting this description followed a schoolgirl into Nelson Mandela Close.

PC Tom Whorwood, of Haringey police said: "These serious incidents appear to be linked and it is important that this man is identified and arrested.

"I would appeal for anyone who has information about the identity of this man or information about these incidents or others that have taken place to call either me on 8345 0878 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 1113."
