Police seek man after failed abductionBy Chingford GuardianPOLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to snatch a 14-year-old girl as she was walking on Friday Hill, at the junction of The Avenue in Chingford, last Thursday, at 6.10pm. The girl became aware of a car which she believed to be a dark blue Peugeot pulling up in front of her. A man opened the passenger door, grabbed the teenager by the hand, and tried to force her into the car. She managed to struggle free and run off. The man is described as black, aged 40, of large build, with cropped, short hair and a moustache. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood.
