Knife robbery By Loughton GuardianTHE owner of a Loughton off-licence was threatened by a man armed with a 10ins knife during a robbery on Sunday night his third in just four months. The 48-year-old victim was alone at S & P Wines in Borders Lane when the robber brandishing a large kitchen knife burst in at 7.45pm. He said: "It was exactly the same as last time and the time before that. He literally ran in the shop and said 'give me the money and nobody will get hurt'. I just opened the till and said 'take what you want'. I was very, very frightened." The raider snatched about £130 from the till and ran off towards Coulson Road. The man's wife had left just minutes before the robber struck. He said: "She went to get something to eat and he came in about five minutes later. He literally ran in, threatened me and took the money from the till then just fled. It can't have taken more than 30 seconds and then I called the police." The incident is almost identical to a spate of armed robberies at off-licences in Borders Lane and Pyrles Lane in recent months. The victim, who does not want to be named, has owned the off-licence for over ten years and was never a target for crooks until an almost identical robbery four months ago. He said: "Because it was exactly the same as before, it must have been the same person. The way I see it, it can't be anyone else. I just hope to God it doesn't happen again because something like this is not good." The robber was white, aged 25 to 30, 5ft 6ins tall wearing a black stocking mask, black leather jacket, a blue baseball cap and white trainers.
