Stabbing outside stationBy Enfield IndependentA GANG of youths stabbed two men outside Enfield Town Station at the weekend. The men, both in their 20s, were making their way home after a night out in Enfield when they were attacked by three teenagers, thought to be around 17-years-old, at around 12.20am. One man was stabbed in the chest, the other sustained a cut to the left arm. The pair were taken to Enfield's Chase Farm Hospital. Their injuries were not thought to be life threatening. Police are keeping an open mind about the attack but believe it could be linked to an argument that took place in a London Road wine bar, between a former girlfriend of one of the victims and a group of girls. News of the stabbing has sparked concern among late night rail travellers and nearby businesses. Mehemt Combat, owner of cab firm Station Cars, based at the station, said: "It is about time CCTV cameras were installed at the station. "This firm has been here 18 years and crime is getting worse. There is trouble almost every weekend and you do not see policemen anywhere. "We do our best to keep the area moving and put people outside to deal with the crowds, but we also need help from the police and the council. "It is about time they got their act together. People do not feel safe and neither do our drivers. When they take people away in their cars from here late at night they are taking risks with their own lives as well." A council spokeswoman said: "The council is in discussion with West Anglia Great Northern (WAGN) about a private scheme at one of their stations, although it doesn't appear to be Enfield Town." Anyone with information about the attack should contact British Transport Police on 7391 5275. s=10A GANG of youths stabbed two men outside Enfield Town Station at the weekend. o The men, both in their 20s, were making their way home after a night out in Enfield when they were attacked by three teenagers, thought to be around 17years old, at around 12.20am on Sunday.
