Pastor bows into actionBy Walthamstow GuardianA PASTOR was stabbed by a masked gunman as he fought off seven robbers with a crossbow in a bizarre attempted armed robbery at a Walthamstow home. The pastor had been holding a prayer group meeting in Green Pond Close, on Friday, at 8.40pm, when two of the men praying produced guns and demanded cash and jewellery. The two gunmen then let five masked men armed with guns into the house. The remainder of the prayer group were ordered to lie face-down on the floor. But the pastor fought back and pointed a crossbow at one of the robbers and ordered the gang to leave. Six of the men fled but one stabbed the pastor in the leg as he ran out the door. The man left behind was held by the prayer group until police arrived. One man has been arrested and has been bailed to return to Leyton police station in the New Year. 15:15 Thursday 12th December 2002
