Teen attacked in racial assault

By Leyton and Leytonstone Guardian

A 17-YEAR-OLD youth was hit round the head with a padlock in a racially motivated attack, say police.

Two officers found the teenager lying in Brewster Road, Leyton, bleeding heavily from the wound on Monday, January 27, just after 7pm.

The teenager told police he was walking in Brewster Road towards Crawley Road when he was approached by four men.

One of the men said to him: "You are a f***ing refugee, you have money, give it to me."

When the teenager said he had no money, one of the four hit him over the head with a padlock, and repeatedly kicked him. The attackers were described as four white men, aged 19. Nothing was stolen.

The victim was treated for his head injury at Whipps Cross Hospital.

Information to Det Con Lynch on 8529 8666.
