Gun cops calledBy Harlow and Bihop's Stortford CitizensARMED police officers were called in following a raid on a Harlow pharmacy in which several hundred pounds was stolen. A man armed with a black handgun threatened three members of staff at the chemists in The Stow when he burst in and demanded money shortly after 5.15pm last Thursday. The two women employees and one male member of staff were left shocked by their ordeal. The raider who was white, aged in his 30s to 40s, about 5ft 8ins tall, slim, clean shaven and wearing a blue knee length jacket and spoke with a local accent ran off towards Orchard Croft. Police hope customers at other shops in the area, and staff at nearby businesses may have vital information. Detective Constable Karen Wells said: "There would have been a few people in the area who would have seen this attacker. I believe the man would have been quite noticeable as he was wearing a multi-coloured stripped woollen hat." Armed response units and police dogs were called out to deal with the incident.
