Mum admits toy assaultA MOTHER-OF-THREE who admitted hitting another mum in the face with a toy following an argument between their sons has been bound over to keep the peace for 12 months. Joanne Tonner, 37, of High Street, Epping, appeared before Harlow magistrates last Thursday to answer a charge of assault. The court heard that on October 29 last year, Tonner had an argument with a neighbour over allegations that her son's mobile phone had been stolen. An argument broke out at about 4.45pm outside Tonner's home during which time she dropped a children's toy on her neighbour's foot and the neighbour immediately kicked it away. It was then that Tonner picked up the toy and hit her, leaving a small mark on her face. She was subsequently arrested, and during interview, admitted hitting her neighbour but told police she had been attacked and had also suffered injuries. She was bound over for 12 months in the sum of £100. 08:39 Monday 20th May 2002
