Pain in the backside

A WOMAN was shot in the bottom with an air pellet as she was browsing the rails outside an Ponders End clothes shop.

The 55-year-old suffered minor injuries to the left buttock when she was unexpectedly hit outside the Belash Sari Centre in Ponders End High Street on Wednesday at around 4.30pm.

The shop, owned by Islam Nazrul, has been a target for vandals and shoplifters for the past 11 years and this latest incident has come as no surprise to Mr Nazrul.

He said: "I am used to tackling these kinds of problems.

"My business has been affected as I now have to lock the shop and customers have to knock to be let in. It is very inconvenient."
