Wild weekend

A MIDDLESEX University undergraduate is gearing up for the wildest weekend of her life as she prepares to compete to become Britain's most 'up-for-it' student.

Laura Zygo, 20, is one of ten students from across the country who will fly to America on Friday to take part in a 48-hour three-city tour of the country taking in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

In each city the students will take part in tests of nerve and endurance that are linked to each city, for example bluffing their way onto a Broadway stage show in New York, taking part in a wedding in Las Vegas or stripping naked on Sunset Strip in LA.

Each challenge will have a points total depending on the level of difficulty. The student with the most points will win the Siemens mobile Urban Challenge 2002 title plus a two-week trip to America with three friends.

Laura, who is studying psychology and criminology, said: "With 90 different challenges this weekend it's going to be tough but I'm really looking forward to it."
