Grays Athletic FCFormed in 1890, Grays Athletic (nickname Super Blues) has, in addition to a long history of success in league and cup competition, a considerable reputation among real ale devotees. Grays Athletic is one of the few football clubs to have their bar approved by the Campaign for Real Ale. Grays Athletic were post war champions of the Corinthian League in 1945/46. More recently the club won the Isthmian league division two in 1984/85 and were runners up in division one in 1987/88 and 1999/2000. Success in cup competitions for Super Blues has included four appearances in the first round of the FA cup in 1951/52, 1989/90, 2000/01 and 2001/02. The club has also won both the Essex Thamesside Trophy and the Essex Senior cup on eight occasions. The most recent success being in the Thamesside Trophy in 2001/02. Super Blues also took home the Isthmian League cup in 1991/92. Grays Athletic reached the third round of the FA Trophy in 1992/93 and 2001/02. The club play at Recreation Ground, Bridge Road, Grays.
