William's the Prince of scholarships

DAIGLEN School pupil William Prince has wowed his teachers by winning three separate scholarships.

The Year 6 pupil at the Buckhurst Hill school was awarded scholarships to Chigwell School, Bancroft Schools and the City of London School.

After weighing up the offers, William, from Woodford Green, plumped for the latter and cannot wait to start

The keen swimmer and hockey player, who wants to be a lawyer, said: "I was very excited to be offered a place at all three schools. I chose the City of London School because it felt right when I went there. It's close to the

river and has excellent facilities"

Daiglen School headteacher Christine Doughty said: "I'm delighted with William's well deserved success; it's some time since we've had such good results. William has been an outstanding pupil for the last seven years and I'm positive he will realise his ambition."

The school's year 6 pupils won eight scholarships in total, and following successful entrance exams and interviews were offered a total of 29 secondary school places at local independent schools between them.
