Resident protests against water company on the web

By Joanne Davis

A resident infuriated by the service he has received from Three Valleys Water has set up a website in protest.

Mr Gerry Coulter, of Roundwood, off Rucklers Lane, Kings Langley, set up the site following months of frustration with the company.

The dispute began in March this year when Mr Coulter, who has a swimming pool and is on a water meter, received an estimated bill from the company.

As he had lost water from the pool due to a broken underground pipe, he requested a meter reading before and after his swimming pool was refilled to pass on to his insurance company, as well as a revised water bill.

Instead of getting a revised bill, he received a reminder for the estimated bill. This was followed by a final demand.

It was not until mid-May that Mr Coulter received a revised bill, which he paid. Despite the payment, he has since been chased by two debt collecting agencies for the original estimated bill.

Unhappy with the way his complaints were being dealt with by customer services staff, Mr Coulter set the website to record his grievances.
